It is a type of romance and satire. The novel is set in southwest England, London and Sussex. At the beginning of the novel we see the death of Mr. Henry Dashwood. Through his second wife he has three daughters Elinor, Marianne and Margaret. In literature  the word monster is used to refer to men who have done horrible things.
